our trip to the culture center: one of the most meaningful works was the index of disappeared by Mariam Ghana and Chitra Ganesh. although there were many beautiful art works in this exhibition this work brought the purpose of this exhibition together: "Since 2004, Chitra Ganesh and Mariam Ghani have collaborated on the Index of the Disappeared, a site-specific installation that operates both as a physical archive of post-9/11 disappearances-detentions, deportations, renditions, and redactions-and a mobile platform for public dialogue. The massive collection draws on radical archival, legal, and activist traditions to draw unlikely connections between seemingly disparate forms of state violence. According to the artists, "The point of the Index is not to collect everything relevant that is released into the public domain, but to sort through masses of information to retrieve and preserve small bits of significance, and then to make the connections that allow others to underst...

My experience painting the Harold Washington mural: It was a nice experience with as I enjoy painting things, and painting the mural was interesting as the artist explained the story behind it. it showed the big Harold Washington library, and had colors associated with Harold Washington college. I tried my best to do a good job painting even though we did not have enough time to finish our parts.

The art institute of chicago webpage and trip looking at the AIC website can help people to know what to expect when going to the museum, and find all informations that they need so it was very helpful for me to look at it before visiting it on Monday. The Fountains by  Hubert Robert is  The painting of Classical ruins that  caught  my eye when  I   saw  it in person it was big but with small details and look very realist.  this painting is one of El Greco's best works and was his  first major Spanish commission and first large public work.  I chose this painting because of my father, El Greco was one the artists he admired.  Portrait of Ismail, Ambassador of the Persian Shah Tahmasp I painted by  Melchior Lorck   I had seen pictures of this painting in history books before so seeing it in person was intresting.  our day in art institute of chicago:
